About the BasX TA2
The BasX TA2 is a stereo preamp/DAC/tuner with an integrated Class A/B power amplifier and a robust linear power supply based on a heavy toroidal transformer. It features a high-quality phono stage that supports both moving magnet and moving coil cartridges, four line-level analog inputs that follow a pure analog signal path, and a precision 24-bit/192 kHz DAC for its digital inputs. Digital connectivity includes USB-B for high-resolution computer audio, coaxial and dual optical S/PDIF inputs, plus a built-in Bluetooth receiver with aptX HD and AAC support, along with a high-sensitivity FM tuner. The TA2 includes full analog-domain bass management with selectable 12 dB/octave high-pass filtering for the main outputs and low-pass filtering for the subwoofer output, which can be bypassed. Outputs include a high-current headphone amplifier, stereo line-level main outputs, a summed mono subwoofer output, and speaker outputs delivering 135 watts RMS per channel into 8 ohms and 200 watts RMS per channel into 4 ohms. All input switching, volume control, and tone controls are implemented in the analog domain for low distortion and a very low noise floor.
