About the XPA-5

The Emotiva XPA-5 is a five-channel power amplifier ideal for powering 5.1, 7.1, or Dolby Atmos/DTS:X home theater systems. It features five high-powered single-channel Class A/B amplifier modules with Soft-Switch™ Optimized Class H power supply topology, combining efficiency with superb sound quality. The amplifier delivers 250 watts RMS per channel into 8 Ohms with all five channels driven, and up to 550 watts RMS per channel into 4 Ohms with one channel driven. It has a broad frequency response from 5 Hz to 80 kHz, very low distortion (<0.005% THD+N at 100 watts RMS), and a high signal-to-noise ratio (>117 dB at rated power). The XPA-5 includes balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs, audiophile-grade gold-plated 5-way binding posts, and microprocessor-controlled fault protection. It is designed and assembled in the USA with globally sourced components and features a modular design allowing future expansion. The amplifier is well-suited for both two-channel and surround sound listening, with a robust steel chassis and advanced power supply technology for cooler operation and reliability.
