About the XMC-1

The Emotiva XMC-1 is a 7.2-channel AV preamp/processor designed for high-performance home theater, featuring fully differential analog audio stages, eight HDMI 1.4b inputs and dual HDMI outputs, balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA pre-outs, and extensive bass management and speaker configuration options. It incorporates high-quality 24-bit/192 kHz DACs, multiple coaxial, optical, and AES/EBU digital inputs, reference-grade balanced and unbalanced stereo analog inputs, AM/FM tuner, dual subwoofer outputs, and support for Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, and other surround formats. Later production and firmware-updated units added support for 4K video and enabled Dirac Live room correction with a base license and optional full-bandwidth upgrade. Known for its low noise floor, flexible configuration, and audiophile-oriented analog design, it has been superseded in Emotiva's lineup by the XMC-2.
