The Emotiva XDA-2 is a versatile audio component combining a high-quality DAC, digital preamp, and a powerful headphone amplifier. It supports up to 24-bit/192kHz playback on all inputs except USB, which supports up to 24-bit/96kHz asynchronously. The device features fully balanced analog outputs (XLR) and unbalanced RCA outputs, with an analog resistor ladder volume control adjustable in 0.25 dB steps, allowing it to function as a digital preamp. It includes an asynchronous sample rate converter (ASRC) to reduce jitter on all inputs. The headphone amplifier is discrete, low noise, with 0.1 ohm output impedance, capable of driving a wide range of headphones including high-efficiency planar magnetics. The XDA-2 remembers separate volume levels for main outputs and headphones. Connectivity includes USB, AES/EBU, coaxial, and optical digital inputs. The unit has a robust build with a solid faceplate and includes a remote control.
