The Emotiva UMC-1 is a 7.1 channel preamplifier-processor designed for audiophile home theater enthusiasts. It offers 5 HDMI inputs and 1 HDMI output, along with multiple analog video inputs including composite, S-video, and component, all scalable to 1080p output via HDMI. The unit features a Genesis Torino video processing chip with Faroudja DCDi technology and a full-color on-screen display overlay. Audio capabilities include unbalanced 7.1 analog outputs, a balanced subwoofer output, and support for HD audio formats such as DTS-MA. It includes an automatic room correction system called Emo-Q with a calibration microphone and allows user-definable EQ settings.
