About the ERD-1

The Emotiva ERD-1 are surround speakers designed for home theater use, featuring a sealed enclosure with selectable bipole/dipole operation to optimize surround sound performance. They include two 5.25-inch woofers with proprietary Tri-Fiber composite cones that are lightweight and rigid with low resonance, and two 25mm silk dome tweeters with wide surrounds. The speakers have a frequency response of 80 Hz to 20 kHz ±2 dB and a sensitivity of 87 dB (2.83 volts at 1 meter). Recommended amplifier power is between 50 and 250 watts RMS. The ERD-1 speakers have a cast aluminum frame, integrated heat sinks on the motor structure, ferro-fluid cooled voice coils, and internally damped low resonance rear chambers. They also feature an asymmetrical 4th order Linkwitz-Riley crossover with precision metal film capacitors and low DCR air core inductors. The speakers measure 9.5 inches high, 13 inches wide, and 4.25 inches deep, and are finished in a non-reflective black satin lacquer.
