About the TSDX

The TSDX is a reference CD/SACD transport designed purely for high-end digital playback in conjunction with an external DAC, especially EMM Labs' DAC2X converter. It uses the Esoteric UMK-5 CD/SACD drive mechanism, providing smooth, quiet, and reliable disc handling. Like the DAC2X, it incorporates EMM Labs' latest-generation MDAT up-converting DSP, which upsamples SACD and PCM data to 2xDSD (5.6 MHz) to maintain phase, frequency, and dynamic integrity before transmission to a compatible DAC. The TSDX offers EMM Labs' proprietary EMM Optilink digital output for a galvanically isolated connection to the DAC2X, minimizing susceptibility to electrical, magnetic, and RF interference, and includes an AES/EBU output for PCM from CD and SACD sources. Power is supplied by a reference high-isolation resonant mode power supply, engineered to reduce digital noise, provide tight regulation, and isolate the circuitry from power-line impurities. The chassis is precision-machined aluminum for rigidity and vibration control, and the unit is supplied with a precision-machined aluminum multifunction infrared remote control that provides full transport control and polarity inversion in the digital domain.
