About the DAC6
The Emm Labs DAC6 is a 6-channel digital-to-analog converter that uses 4th generation discrete dual differential DAC technology, derived from the professional DAC8 Mk IV. It supports PCM upsampling and DSD conversion, offering pristine audio quality with minimal jitter through MFAST technology and Meitner Digital Audio Translator (MDAT) signal processing. The DAC6 provides balanced XLR analog outputs only, designed for multi-channel audio systems, and is capable of handling PCM (44.1kHz to 96kHz) and DSD formats. It features clock synchronization options, including a unique 'pull mode' where the DAC6 provides the clock to the audio source for optimal jitter reduction. The unit is built with aerospace-grade composite laminate circuit boards, a low resonance chassis, and offers remote control via infrared and RS-232. It is often paired with the Emm Labs SACD-1000 transport and Meitner Switchman II preamp/processor for a complete high-end digital audio system.
