About the KC II Pro
The Emerald Physics KC II Pro is an upgraded version of the KCII speaker featuring a state-of-the-art Neo Polyester tweeter, improved crossover, and enhanced drivers. It is a passive 3-way, 4-driver dynamic dipole open baffle loudspeaker designed for high-fidelity audio reproduction with a frequency response of 46Hz to 22kHz (+/-3dB typical in-room) and extendable to 35Hz with an optional BOM (Bass Optimization Module) adjustable 4-pole Linkwitz Transform Function analog EQ. The system includes two custom 10-inch paper cone woofers with dual pleated surrounds, an 8-inch Godzilla mid-woofer/midrange, and a 1-inch screw-in titanium compression tweeter with waveguide. It has a nominal impedance of 6 ohms (minimum 4 ohms), sensitivity of 94dB at 2.83V/1m at 1kHz, and is recommended for use with 25-200 watt amplifiers. The crossover uses aperture bass propagation loading with mechanical and acoustic filters for precise frequency division. The speaker measures 41.25 inches high (including base), 19.25 inches wide at the base, and 7.5 inches deep to the back of the midrange/tweeter, weighing 65 lbs each. It can be single, bi-amped, or tri-amped and is highly regarded for its imaging, soundstage, and bass articulation. The KC II Pro is no longer in production but remains a highly sought-after model for audiophiles.
