Einstein The Tube Mk. II is a high-end, fully balanced dual-mono tube line preamplifier featuring 19 vacuum tubes (18 E88CC/6922 and 1 ECC82/12AU7). It has a compact chassis with black glass and chrome edging, dual large knobs for source selection and volume control, and a power-on LED. The design includes a volume control outside the signal path to minimize sonic degradation, point-to-point wiring, and separate transformers for each channel. The Mk. II version improves on the original by isolating the first stage tubes with a floating suspended sub-chassis to reduce micro-vibrations and resonances, enhancing imaging, detail retrieval, and overall musical presentation. It offers three balanced inputs (Phono, CD, Tuner), two single-ended inputs (Line 1 and Line 2), and balanced outputs, with an optional single-ended output configuration. The preamp is noted for its extremely low noise floor, wide frequency response (2 Hz to 300 kHz), low distortion (<0.05% at 1 kHz), and high signal-to-noise ratio (>95 dB).
