About the 2050 Tube
The EICO 2050 Classic Series is a vintage stereo integrated tube amplifier introduced around 1964. It is rated at 50 watts IHFM stereo power, with approximately 44 watts of total continuous power (about 22 watts per channel), rather than 50 watts continuous per channel. The amplifier provides 8- and 16-ohm speaker outputs and four inputs: magnetic or adapted ceramic phono, tuner, tape, and auxiliary. Published specifications include frequency response of ±1 dB from 10 Hz to 40 kHz, a power bandwidth of approximately 40 Hz to 20 kHz at rated output, and low harmonic and intermodulation distortion. Its 11-tube circuit uses four EL84/6BQ5 output tubes along with a 5AR4/GZ34 rectifier and small-signal tubes. The 2050 was sold in kit and factory-wired forms and is no longer manufactured.
