About the 2050 Tube
The EICO 2050 is a 50-watt per channel stereo integrated tube amplifier originally95 or factory wired for around 1964. It delivers 36 watts IHFM music power and 28 watts continuous power with low distortion levels (2% at 14 watts, 0.7% at 5 watts, 0.2% at 1 watt). The amplifier features a frequency response of ±1 dB from 15 Hz to 40 kHz and a power bandwidth of 30 Hz to 20 kHz at rated continuous power with 1% harmonic distortion. It supports speaker outputs of 8 or 16 ohms and inputs for magnetic or adapted ceramic phono, tuner, tape, and auxiliary sources. Sensitivity is 2.3 mV for phono and 250 mV for other inputs, with noise levels of 65 dB down on phono and 80 dB down on others. The amplifier uses a tube complement including 1 ECC85, 5 6AU6, 1 6ALS, 2 6EU7, 5 12DW7, 4 6BQ5/EL84, and 1 5AR4/GZ34. Its compact size measures approximately 5-5/8" H x 15-7/8" W x 11-5/8" D. The design includes high magnetic flux density core output transformers enabling strong bass down to 30 Hz at full power and extended high-frequency response up to 50 kHz at lower power levels. The amplifier is noted for its clean wiring, good sound quality with strong bass and detailed highs, and is considered a worthwhile vintage tube amplifier to keep and repair.
