About the Kiva
The EgglestonWorks Kiva loudspeaker is a high-end, handcrafted three-way, five-driver speaker system designed and manufactured in Memphis, Tennessee. It features a design philosophy focused on musical truth and listening comfort, combining high resolution with musicality to enable fatigue-free listening. The Kiva is closely derived from the more expensive Viginti model but uses unique drivers to give it its own voice. It has a vented cabinet tuned to a low 37 Hz with dual 7.5-inch woofers and twin 6.5-inch mid/woofers loaded into modified transmission lines to reduce distortion and add midband ambience. The tweeter is a 1.38-inch fabric dome with a high dynamic range magnet and voice coil system. The enclosure is constructed from multiple layers of MDF and HDF with aluminum baffle braces, featuring thick walls (1.53" to 1.79") and acoustic fill throughout to minimize port noise and resonance. The speaker includes two sets of rhodium-plated OFC binding posts for biwiring or biamping. Its footprint is approximately 10.5" wide by 22" deep by 48" high, weighing about 130 lbs. The Kiva offers a frequency response from 26 Hz to 24 kHz, a nominal impedance of 6 ohms, and a sensitivity of 88 dB at 1 watt/1 meter. It is praised for its excellent performance and musicality at its price point, making it a set-it-and-forget-it speaker for audiophiles.
