About the SUB-80X Down Firing
The Earthquake Sound SUB-80X is a powered subwoofer featuring an 8-inch long throw woofer with a Santoprene surround and a 48oz high-density double stacked magnet. It includes a built-in 150 Watt RMS Class A/B amplifier and offers a frequency response range from 23Hz to 180Hz, with a crossover frequency adjustable between 40Hz and 180Hz. The subwoofer is designed with an optimized front-facing flared bass port and a down-firing enclosure that uses floor coupling to enhance bass output and reduce port turbulence, resulting in clean, defined bass. It supports speaker level inputs up to 10 volts and RCA level (low) audio inputs, with auto turn-on signal detection and a 0–180° phase shift switch for versatile setup. The SUB-80X is compact and unobtrusive, finished in black ash, making it suitable for apartments, condos, and townhomes. Dimensions are approximately 13.5" x 9.5" x 13.75" and it weighs about 21 lbs. It is compatible with a wide range of audio systems and designed for easy setup and reliable, distortion-free bass performance.
