About the Contour 3.3
The Dynaudio Contour 3.3 is a three-way floorstanding loudspeaker developed through extensive Danish research into loudspeaker design, embodying Dynaudio's advanced technology. It is designed for larger rooms where power and clarity are essential. The speaker features dual bass drivers with 100 mm woofer voice coils and long throw linear spiders for precise membrane control. Each driver uses vented magnet systems to ensure balanced sound across listening environments. The cabinet is finished in elegant wood veneer and includes a spiked MDF base for enhanced stability and strength. Internally, each woofer is housed in separate chambers to reduce coloration and improve low-frequency accuracy, with bitumen sheets used to dampen resonances. The Contour 3.3 has a sensitivity of 88 dB, an IEC power handling of 300 W, and a nominal impedance of 4 ohms. It employs a bass reflex rear ported design with a 3-way crossover and a 28 mm soft dome tweeter. The frequency response ranges from 32 Hz to 20 kHz within ±3 dB. The speaker was manufactured in Denmark between 1996 and 2002 and is now discontinued. Dimensions are approximately 1187 mm height, 366 mm depth, and 222 mm width, weighing about 36.5 kg per speaker.
