About the 8C

The Dutch & Dutch 8c is an all-in-one active speaker system designed for high-end home Hi-Fi and professional studio monitoring. It employs a three-way design with two rear-facing 8-inch high-excursion subwoofers for sealed low-frequency reproduction, a passive cardioid 8-inch midrange driver, and a 1-inch alloy dome tweeter, achieving constant directivity from 100 Hz upwards and exceptional accuracy with a frequency response of 30 Hz – 20 kHz ±1 dB. Integrated Class D amplifiers (Pascal Audio S-PRO2), high-end Texas Instruments DACs (PCM4104, up to 192 kHz support), Analog Devices DSP (ADAU1452), and ADC (PCM4202) enable room correction, parametric EQ, boundary compensation, and software upgradability via Ethernet networking. Connectivity includes balanced XLR analog inputs (+4 dBu/-10 dBV sensitivity), AES3 digital XLR inputs/outputs (left/right/mono), analog subwoofer output, and Gigabit Ethernet for control and streaming (Roon Ready, etc.). The compact cabinet (485 x 270 x 380 mm, 26 kg) uses solid oak sides/top with birch plywood internals and damped ABS baffle. Maximum linear SPL is 106 dB continuous from 35 Hz, SNR >118 dB, with crossovers at 100 Hz and 1250 Hz (4th order Linkwitz-Riley). It remains in production with ongoing firmware updates, praised for its future-proof platform and holographic imaging.
