About the PM1
The Dolan PM1 is a solid-state line preamplifier with an integrated, adjustable-sensitivity phono stage. Its phono circuit uses an LM394 monolithic transistor pair and a cascode second stage, while FET devices are used in the line amplifier. The unit has a 30-VA toroidal-transformer power supply with regulated ±32.5 V DC rails. Published specifications include phono frequency response of 20 Hz–20 kHz (±0.2 dB), high-level response of 1 Hz–500 kHz (+0/−1 dB), phono sensitivity settings of 1.5 mV, 0.5 mV, and 0.15 mV, and signal-to-noise ratios of 80, 76, and 72 dB for those settings; high-level S/N is 90 dB. It is specified for 120 V AC, 60 Hz operation, consumes 20 W, measures 19 × 2¾ × 10 inches, and weighs approximately 13 lb (5.9 kg). The PM1 is a discontinued vintage product.
