About the Adamantes III 25th
The Diapason Adamantes III 25th Anniversary Edition celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Adamantes model originally designed in 1989 by Alessandro Schiavi. It features a diamond multi-faceted full-wood cabinet crafted from solid walnut, designed to provide circular emission of sound waves around the speaker, closely approximating the theoretical ideal of point-source radiation. This design allows the speaker to 'disappear' acoustically, creating a highly realistic virtual soundstage with impressive 3-dimensional spatial imaging. The front multifaceted panel has been redesigned with different angles compared to the previous Adamantes III, improving driver emission and allowing for a thicker cabinet. This results in richer harmonics, better control of cabinet resonances, and an emotional sound quality close to live musical events. The speaker uses Diapason's Direct Drive technology with a 170 mm woofer and a 19 mm silk dome tweeter, providing a frequency response from 40 Hz to 20 kHz and a sensitivity of 91 dB/W/m. The cabinet is hand-built by Diapason master craftsmen in Italy, emphasizing both acoustic performance and aesthetic value. Recommended stands include the patented 63 cm 3/P stand that isolates cabinet vibrations by transferring them to the floor via steel support bars. The Adamantes III 25th is known for its longevity, musicality, and high value retention over time. It is no longer in production but remains highly regarded among audiophiles.
