About the Gibbon X

The Gibbon X is a three-way system featuring a 3/4 inch ultra-low-mass textile dome tweeter suspended in an inert chamber, a 7 inch midrange driver with a phase-plug and inverted natural rubber surround in its own sealed enclosure, and a pair of massive, long-throw 9 inch woofers in a tuned 4-chamber enclosure. It delivers a full-range, utterly transparent sound with excellent dynamics and imaging, making it easy to drive and place in any room. The speaker is designed for high fidelity with a frequency response from 23Hz to 40kHz, sensitivity of 91.5dB/W/M, and an impedance of 8.5 Ohms (16 Ohms max, 7.3 Ohms min at 26Hz). Dimensions are 44 inches high, 9 inches wide, and 17.5 inches deep (excluding feet). Available finishes include Cherry, Mahogany, and Mink bamboo veneer. The Gibbon X is praised for startling dynamics, exceptional realism, and precise imaging with musical images floating free of the enclosure with great stability and corporeality. It is suitable for use with both tube and solid-state amplifiers and is considered a class A performer in its category.
