The Denon DCM-5000 is a professional 100-disc CD changer designed for extensive multi-disc playback. It features two CD drives allowing one disc to be played while another is loaded, enhancing operational flexibility. The player uses a PCM1704 digital converter and supports HDCD decoding for superior sound quality. It has a frequency response of 2Hz to 20kHz and a dynamic range of 100dB. Additional features include CD TEXT capability, disc naming functions, and PC keyboard input for easy management of music groups. The unit is known for its superb sonic capabilities, utilizing a 24-bit Alpha processor and specialized HDCD decoding to produce true 20-bit data output. The DCM-5000 has been discontinued by the manufacturer.
