About the Venus 15th

The Denafrips Venus 15th is a high-end, fixed-output balanced discrete R-2R digital-to-analog converter. It uses a proprietary true-balanced quad-mono conversion platform with four 26-bit R-2R ladder networks for PCM and a separate 6-bit DSD section with 32-step FIR filtering. Key design elements include precision 0.005% thin-film resistor arrays, FPGA-based processing, adaptive FIFO buffering/reclocking, low-jitter AT-cut OCXO clocks, substantial linear power supplies using 80 W and 250 W single-crystal-copper transformers, and selectable NOS (non-oversampling) or OS (oversampling) operation. It accepts USB, S/PDIF, dual AES/EBU and three I²S interface variants, and supplies fixed-level RCA and balanced XLR analog outputs. Current manufacturer and dealer listings indicate it remains in production; therefore it is not marked discontinued.
