About the Terminator

The Denafrips Terminator is a flagship R-2R DAC designed for audiophiles seeking reference-level digital conversion. It features a proprietary true balanced 26-bit R-2R ladder network with 0.005% matched thin-film resistors, combined with a 6-bit DSD section and 32-step FIR filters. The DAC supports PCM up to 1536kHz and DSD up to DSD1024 via USB and I²S inputs, with lower resolutions available on other digital inputs. It utilizes oven-controlled crystal oscillators (OCXO) for ultra-low phase noise, an adaptive FIFO buffer for reclocking, and a fully encapsulated ultra-low noise linear power supply. The Terminator is known for its tank-like build quality, weighing 19 kg, and offers a wide array of digital inputs including USB, dual AES/EBU, coaxial, Toslink, and multiple I²S options. Analog outputs are provided via both RCA and XLR, with high output levels and low distortion. The unit is driverless on Mac and Linux, with a licensed Thesycon driver for Windows. No remote control or power cord is included.
