The deHavilland Aries 845-G monoblock amplifier features a pure class-A design with direct-heated triode tubes and zero negative feedback. It uses a large 845 power tube known for its wide soundstage and authoritative musical presentation, complemented by a 6AU5 driver tube and a 6SN7/GTA/GTB voltage amplifier tube. The amplifier has a stylish industrial art/deco design with a brushed silver tube protector for the 845 tube and an anodized dark gun-metal grey chassis. It delivers 30 watts RMS into 8 ohms (36 watts into 4 ohms) and features a massive, oversized power transformer for excellent regulation. The audio circuit is direct coupled with only one coupling capacitor, point-to-point hardwired, and uses high-quality components such as Electra-Print transformers, Auricaps, Hovland Musicaps, and Cardas wiring. The amplifier includes an easy-on chassis bias meter, Cardas RCA input jacks, and optional Cardas gold/rhodium binding posts and Elma stepped attenuators. It weighs approximately 57-58 lbs and measures 12" x 18" x 10" (WxLxH). The amplifier inverts phase and comes with a two-year parts warranty, one year on labor, and 90 days on tubes. It is highly regarded for its powerful sound that belies its wattage and its compatibility with a wide range of speakers.
