The Definitive Technology ProMonitor 1000 is a compact satellite/bookshelf loudspeaker from the ProCinema family, featuring a 5-1/4" BDSS bass/midrange driver pressure-coupled to a 5-1/4" planar low-frequency radiator and a 1" pure aluminum dome tweeter for wide-band, high-output performance in a small enclosure. It is designed for use as a main or surround speaker in stereo or home theater systems, delivering spacious imaging, extended bass for its size, and clear, detailed highs. The non-resonant PolyStone cabinet with low-diffraction design, gloss black finish, keyhole wall-mount slot and integrated tripod/base provide flexible placement on stands, shelves, or walls, while the 5-way binding posts support secure connection to a wide range of amplifiers. Typical system specs include 47–30,000 Hz frequency response, 91 dB sensitivity, 8-ohm nominal impedance, and 10–200 W recommended power handling, making it suitable for small to medium rooms when paired with or without a subwoofer. It has been discontinued and is no longer sold as a current model by major retailers, though remaining inventory and used units may still be available.
