About the 120X
The dbx 120X is a subharmonic synthesizer designed to add deep bass frequencies by generating subharmonics from 50-100Hz input signals, split into four bands centered at approximately 28Hz, 34Hz, 40Hz, and 50Hz. It features individual level controls for each subharmonic band, an LF boost equalizer, active crossover with variable frequency (50-210Hz), bypass switch, and subwoofer output. Suitable for studio recording, live sound, broadcast, and hi-fi systems with separate subwoofers. It integrates via balanced/unbalanced inputs/outputs (phono/RCA connectors, nominal -10dBV), processes mono sub-bass, and supports full-range or high-pass main outputs. Known for robust build, intuitive interface, and use in iconic recordings.
