About the Progression

The Dan D'Agostino Progression is a high‑power, solid‑state integrated amplifier that combines a fully balanced, direct‑coupled analog design with optional digital and phono modules in a single chassis. It delivers around 200 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 400 watts into 4 ohms in a high‑biased Class AB configuration, using dual‑mono construction and a large custom toroidal transformer for stable drive into demanding loudspeakers. The base unit provides multiple balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA line‑level inputs, along with a balanced XLR output and heavy‑duty speaker binding posts, and is controlled via front‑panel knobs and an included remote rather than a complex touch interface. When fitted with the optional phono module, the Progression adds a moving‑coil phono stage with adjustable loading over eight impedance settings, allowing fine matching to a wide range of MC cartridges. With the optional digital/streaming module, it becomes a full-featured DAC/streaming hub, adding USB audio, coaxial and optical S/PDIF, Ethernet networking, Wi‑Fi and support for high‑resolution PCM and DSD playback, and in many configurations operates as a Roon‑certified streaming endpoint. The amplifier is housed in Dan D'Agostino's signature industrial‑luxury chassis with a prominent central power meter and is available in silver or black finishes. It is not a separate standalone DAC or phono preamp; those functions are provided by its optional internal modules.
