About the DQ-LP1
The DQ-LP1 combines an active electronic low-pass filter for bass output and a passive high-pass filter for frequencies above the crossover point. The active low-pass section is continuously variable from 40 to 400 Hz with an 18 dB/octave slope, achieved through a non-ringing, staggered arrangement of 6-12-18 dB/octave slopes to preserve bass transients. The passive high-pass section (6 dB/octave) can be custom tailored for any desired crossover frequency by inserting a capacitor and/or resistor into the provided terminals on the circuit board. The front panel frequency control does not affect the high-pass frequency. The device features independent channel adjustments for room placement compensation, separate output circuits for stereo and mixed center channel bass modules, level controls, and A-B comparison switches. Distortion is exceptionally low at 0.005% THD. The DQ-LP1 is intended to be connected between the preamplifier and two power amplifiers—one for the main speakers and one for the subwoofer(s).
