The Daedalus Audio Muse Loudspeakers are a floor-standing three-way system featuring a 1" soft dome tweeter, a 4.5" midrange driver, and an 8" woofer. They are designed to function as a point source much like a quality two-way system but without the usual compromises. The speakers have an impedance of 8 ohms (+/- 1 Ohm) and a high sensitivity of 95.5 dB SPL at 2.83 volts @ 1 meter, allowing them to be driven effectively by a wide range of amplifiers. Power handling ranges from 3 to 300 watts. The frequency response spans from 32 Hz to 20 kHz (+/- 2 dB), providing full-range sound reproduction. The Muse speakers feature front porting, enabling placement near walls without compromising sound quality, and a rear-mounted tweeter control to adjust output by ±1 dB. The crossover network in the Muse Studio version matches that of the higher-end Athena model for maximum definition and accuracy. The drivers include custom-modified components made to Daedalus specifications, with the woofers being American-made paper cone and cloth surround units treated for moisture resistance and longevity. The speakers are praised for their wide sweet spot, precise imaging, dynamic range, and musical tonality, making them suitable for both home listening and recording studio environments. Optional accessories include stainless steel spikes with brass lock nuts and DiD isolation feet to enhance stability and clarity. The Muse speakers are well regarded for their ability to disappear in the room acoustically, even at close range, and for their user-friendly design that accommodates real living environments.
