About the Riser

The Core Audio Designs riser is a rigid, high-mass adjustable speaker stand designed to support high-performance monitor loudspeakers. It uses a blend of steel, aluminum composite, natural stone, high-density 1" Apple-Ply, and real wood veneers to combine mass, stiffness, and aesthetic refinement. The stand features an adjustable center column with an overall height that can be varied from approximately 23" to 29" to position tweeters at or near ear level according to listener preference. The top plate is an aluminum composite panel with a brushed copper finish measuring about 6-3/4" wide by 7-1/2" deep. The base plate is a solid Pennsylvania Blue Stone slab (also available in a custom dyed concrete version), nominally 12" x 12" x 1-1/2", chosen for its mass and stability. Wood components, including the exposed Apple-Ply edges and veneer panels, are CNC-milled and finished in a range of premium hardwood veneers, including African Zebra wood for this configuration. The riser is supplied with adjustable stainless steel spikes and matching coasters for mechanical grounding and vibration control. Each stand weighs on the order of 80-100 lb depending on material choices and is built to order in California. Stands are sold in pairs and typically have a made-to-order lead time of about 4-5 weeks. Pricing is per pair and varies with veneer and material costs.
