About the MF2300A
The Conrad Johnson MF2300A is a refined version of the MF2300 amplifier, rated at 240 watts per channel RMS into 8 ohms with less than 1% total harmonic distortion or intermodulation distortion. It is designed to deliver one third more current into low impedance loads, making it ideal for driving difficult loudspeakers. The amplifier features all polystyrene capacitors in the audio circuit, machined gold-plated OFC input connectors, and premium machined output binding posts. The MF2300A improved on the original MF2300 by using Vishay resistors at critical circuit points and upgraded capacitors in the input amplifier power supplies, extending the open-loop frequency response. It is praised for its extremely round, full bass, liquid midrange, silky highs, and a smooth, tube-like sound with great detail. The amplifier has massive heatsinking to keep transistors cool for longer lifespan and is known for excellent sound staging and dynamic performance. It weighs 57 lbs and measures approximately 19" W x 6.75" H x 16.875" D. The MF2300A is highly regarded by audiophiles and considered a classic, powerful, and musical amplifier that can drive a wide range of speakers with authority and finesse.
