The Conrad Johnson ART150 is a limited-edition stereo tube power amplifier introduced for the company's 40th anniversary, designed for audiophiles and industry professionals. It produces 150 watts RMS per channel from 30 Hz to 15 kHz at no more than 1.5% THD into 4 ohms, with a tube complement of four KT150 output tubes and three 6922 tubes. The amplifier features a simple three-element audio circuit: a voltage gain amplifier, a cathode-coupled phase inverter, and the output stage. It uses proprietary transformers, CJD Teflon capacitors, and laser-trimmed metal foil resistors for optimal sonic performance. The ART150 has a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz ±0.25 dB, input impedance of 100 kOhms, and hum and noise 108 dB below rated power. It includes LED bias indicators for easy tube bias adjustment and is hand-assembled with a 3-year warranty. The amplifier weighs 80 lbs and measures 16.3125" deep x 19" wide x 8.75" high. It is known for outstanding neutrality, transparency, resolution, and dynamic speed, with a low noise floor and precise imaging. The design uses low negative feedback (~12 dB) to reduce distortion and improve damping factor. The ART150 has evolved aesthetically from an acrylic top plate to a metal top plate with a slatted grille. Only 250 units were produced, making it a rare and collectible amplifier.
