About the Ground Control GC1
The Computer Audio Design Ground Control GC1 is a revolutionary noise reduction device that targets high-frequency electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI) in high-fidelity audio systems. It passively absorbs and dissipates unwanted high-frequency noise from about 1 MHz up into the GHz range, significantly lowering the noise floor and enhancing sound quality. The GC1 is designed to connect to unused inputs or ground terminals on audio components such as DACs, computers, servers, CD players, NAS, and routers, or directly to mains Earth. It improves definition of lower frequencies, pace, rhythm, timing, naturalness of instruments and voice, and widens the soundstage, resulting in a more realistic and satisfying musical experience. The device is handcrafted in the UK, features a compact and unobtrusive design, and requires no power supply. It includes two 4mm banana sockets for connection and requires separate cables, which are available with a discount when purchased together. The GC1 is typically connected to the noisiest device in the system or to mains Earth for best results. It is not recommended to connect it to amplifier outputs unless the user understands the technical design to avoid damage.
