About the Electrum

The Colibri Labs Electrum is a 2-way loudspeaker designed with a unique cabinet construction using a combination of oak, birch, mediapan (MDF), and maple woods to minimize external noise influences. Each speaker weighs approximately 52.5 kg (105 kg per pair) and measures 1140 x 222 x 405 mm. It features high-end Scan-Speak drivers, including a 1" textile dome tweeter and an 18W 8545 midwoofer, with a bass reflex design incorporating an aluminum tube. The speakers have a sensitivity of 87 dB, nominal impedance of 8 Ohm (minimum 6.7 Ohm), and a frequency response spanning approximately 27 Hz to 22 kHz. The crossover uses premium Mundorf and Duelund components, and the internal wiring is handmade Matrix MK2 wire by Sinisa Kraljic. The Electrum is designed for power handling between 40 and 200 watts and is priced around €12,000 per pair. The design emphasizes a pure and detailed sound signature, reflecting the founder's pursuit of high-fidelity audio excellence.
