About the Statement Line Stage

The Coincident Speaker Technology Statement Line Stage is a high-end, two-chassis vacuum-tube stereo line preamplifier. Its circuit is built around one 101D directly heated triode per channel, with transformer coupling at the input, volume-control, interstage, and output sections. Coincident specifies no capacitors or resistors in series with the direct audio signal path, no global negative feedback, balanced internal wiring, and custom Japanese Supermalloy signal transformers wound with 6N copper. The separate, fully dual-mono external power supply uses solid-state rectification/regulation and mixed inductive/capacitive filtering. Standard operation provides two line inputs and two line outputs, configurable as RCA or XLR; it has separate channel volume controls, a ground-lift switch, and no remote control. An optional factory wiring arrangement could provide an additional RCA input, or configure two balanced inputs or two balanced outputs (with one arrangement excluding the other). Historical versions are documented with 20 dB gain, while the current manufacturer preamps page lists the Statement Line Stage at 13 dB gain; this likely reflects a later Mk. III configuration or a manufacturer specification revision.
