About the Total Eclipse
The Coincident Speaker Technology Total Eclipse is the largest offering from Israel Blume and the company, designed to deliver truthfulness to the source, value, and honesty in sound reproduction. It features a cabinet constructed entirely of MDF hardwood with veneer on both sides, precision CNC cutting, and a midrange-tweeter-midrange (MTM) sub-enclosure to reduce vibrations. The enclosure is tuned to 350 Hz to focus resonant energy into a sonically benign region and eliminate acoustical stuffing, which raises system sensitivity. The speaker is designed to be driven optimally by low-powered tube amplifiers but performs superbly with virtually all amplifiers due to its high sensitivity and easy load. It weighs 165 lbs each and measures 52" H × 9" W × 22" D. The Total Eclipse offers a frequency response of 24 Hz to 25 kHz, sensitivity of 94 dB at 1 watt/1 meter, and an impedance of 14 ohms. Power requirements range from 7 to 500 watts. The design emphasizes a straightforward engineering approach with world-class components, avoiding exotic materials or overly complex enclosures, resulting in a speaker that provides excellent soundstaging, resolution, and tonal balance at a price point of per pair.
