The Coincident Speaker Technology Super Eclipse III is a refined version of the Super Eclipse loudspeaker, designed to deliver sonic attributes similar to the flagship Total Eclipse but in a more compact and affordable package. It features state-of-the-art drivers including a 1-inch ScanSpeak Revelator titanium dome tweeter, dual 5.25-inch hand-crafted carbon fiber midrange/woofers arranged in a D'Appolito configuration for enhanced sensitivity and dynamic performance, and dual 8-inch paper-treated side-firing woofers. The enclosure is non-resonant and carefully tuned to minimize coloration. The speaker offers a frequency response from 28 Hz to 35 kHz, a sensitivity of 92 dB at 1 watt/1 meter, and a nominal impedance of 14 ohms (never dropping below 10 ohms), making it suitable for a wide range of amplifiers including low-powered tube amps. The design emphasizes holographic imaging, low distortion, and detailed retrieval, with a smooth, natural tonal balance and expansive soundstage. The speakers can be positioned with woofers facing inward or outward to optimize bass response depending on room acoustics. Optional outrigger feet and isolation spikes are available to enhance stability and performance. The Super Eclipse III is finished in a natural cherry veneer and weighs approximately 92 pounds each.
