About the S12.5
The Coda S12.5 Stereo Power Amplifier features a direct-coupled high-speed audio circuit with no capacitors in the audio path and no global feedback, resulting in very low output impedance (0.04 ohms) and a high damping factor (greater than 200) for effective loudspeaker control. It uses 60 high-speed bipolar transistors in the output stage, capable of swinging over 100 Amperes of current on transients, which contributes to its effortless dynamics and relaxed sound. The amplifier operates in Class A/AB with a precision bias circuit, delivering 125 watts per channel into 8 ohms stereo and up to 500 watts bridged mono. It has a frequency response extending to 100 kHz, distortion less than 0.03% at rated power, and a signal-to-noise ratio greater than 120 dB. The chassis is made from heavy-gauge steel with a machined aluminum faceplate, and all connectors are gold-plated. The amplifier includes a proprietary input filter to block DC and line noise, and a bias standby feature to deactivate the output stage bias current while keeping the rest of the amplifier powered. It weighs 45 lbs and measures approximately 5.75 x 17.5 x 12.5 inches (HxWxD). The product comes with a 10-year transferable warranty for 5 years. This amplifier is no longer manufactured but remains highly regarded for its build quality and sonic performance.
