About the Innovation Basic

The Clearaudio Innovation Basic is a high-end turntable that distills the key technologies of the larger Innovation models into a more compact three-point "tri-star" chassis made from a resonance-optimized sandwich of Panzerholz (high-density engineered wood) and aluminum. Its dynamically balanced 40mm main platter, precision CNC-machined from a high-density synthetic material with excellent dimensional stability, is driven by a high-torque 24V DC motor via a belt and stabilized by Clearaudio's patented Ceramic Magnetic Bearing (CMB) and Optical Speed Control (OSC) system, which uses an infrared sensor to monitor speed in real time. The deck offers electronic speed selection for 33 1/3, 45, and 78 rpm with measured speed accuracy better than +/-0.08%. A second tonearm base can be fitted, enabling dual-tonearm setups to cover a wide range of cartridges and record formats. The Innovation Basic is available with natural wood or black lacquer Panzerholz and silver or black aluminum surfaces, and includes a five-year manufacturer's warranty.
