About the Ambient CMB

The Clearaudio Ambient CMB is a belt-drive turntable with a multilayer Panzerholz-and-aluminum plinth, a 40 mm acrylic platter, and Clearaudio’s Ceramic Magnetic Bearing (CMB). The CMB uses magnetic levitation to reduce mechanical contact and bearing noise. Its synchronous motor is housed in a separate matching enclosure and operated by an external speed controller. The turntable supports 33⅓ and 45 rpm and measures approximately 535 × 330 × 150 mm. Clearaudio lists its weight at approximately 14 kg; the previously stated 12 kg figure appears to be inaccurate. Tonearms and cartridges were separate options rather than inherent features of the turntable.
