About the M300 Mono Bloc
The Clayton Audio M300 is a high-end Class A monoblock power amplifier designed by Wilson Shen that operates with virtually no negative feedback. Known for its spectacular dynamics, full midrange, limitless power delivery, and exceptional soundstaging, the M300 has earned recognition as a reference-quality amplifier among audiophiles. The amplifier features a compact design with a relatively small 11 x 11.5 inch front face and operates in pure Class A topology. It includes a two-position bias switch allowing users to select between high bias (800W idle consumption per amplifier, 55°F above ambient heat) for critical listening and low bias (300W idle consumption, 40°F above ambient heat) for less critical listening. The amplifiers accept balanced inputs only, as designer Wilson Shen believes additional circuitry to accommodate unbalanced inputs negatively impacts sound quality. Supplied feet are machined taller than standard to allow direct placement on carpet while maintaining adequate ventilation for convective air flow.
