The Classé CP-500 is a stereo preamplifier from the Delta Series, designed for two-channel music systems requiring superior musical performance and flexibility. It features fully balanced circuitry implemented symmetrically to reject noise and distortion, with a stable and quiet power supply using a custom toroidal transformer with dual secondary windings to keep left and right channels completely separated. The preamplifier offers simple and elegant operation via a TFT touchscreen, RS-232, and IR remote control, allowing extensive customization such as renaming inputs, adjusting volume presets, and changing display colors. The chassis is rigid and low-vibration to reduce microphonic distortion. It supports multiple inputs and outputs, including balanced and single-ended connections, and has an optional internal MM/MC phono module. The volume control is precise and sensitive, with software-controlled responsiveness and speed limits.
