About the EE1

The English Electric EE1, from The Chord Company, is a compact network noise isolator that addresses noise from home network devices affecting streaming media quality. It employs galvanic isolation to block low-frequency noise and reduce high-frequency noise, converting unwanted electrical noise to heat via a passive design with an internal transformer and EMI filter using surface mount components. Positioned between Ethernet cables—ideally close to the source like between a switch and streamer—it maintains data integrity and speed. Users report benefits such as less grain, better flow, more detail, cleaner vocals, snappier percussion, and improved bass definition. It pairs well with Chord C-Stream cables (often bundled) and English Electric switches for cumulative effects. The EE1 features RJ45 input/output, a machined aluminum or alloy case, and is easy to install plug-and-play. A successor, EE1 Plus, adds ARAY technology, enhanced filtering, and decoupled feet, but the original EE1 remains available. Warranty: 2 years.
