The CPA 5000 builds on the advanced CPA 4000 model by incorporating the latest proprietary ultra-high-frequency power supply and ultra low noise circuitry, achieving an impressive noise floor performance below -130dB. It features a substantially larger chassis than Chord's Standard Series preamplifiers, providing enhanced shielding and reduced RF interference. The unit includes eight inputs: four pairs of fully balanced XLR inputs and four pairs of RCA unbalanced inputs, including two independent tape/recording loops. It also offers AV bypass inputs for direct connection to AV processors at full signal level, and two low distortion, low noise headphone outputs. The front panel is equipped with highly accurate, visually stunning VU meters with BBC ballistics, which can be enabled or disabled as desired.
