About the Rumour II

The Chord Rumour II speaker cable uses 19 strands of 16 AWG silver-plated oxygen-free copper per conductor, surrounded by Teflon® insulation to ensure tonal neutrality and long-term performance. The conductors are twisted in a pair configuration, which reduces noise floor and improves sound coherence compared to traditional parallel conductor designs. The cable has a silicone outer jacket for flexibility and mechanical damping, with a diameter of approximately 6mm, making it one of the smallest high-performance speaker cables available. Originally introduced in the 1990s, the Rumour design has remained largely unchanged due to its excellent sonic qualities, delivering deep, controlled bass and detailed dynamics. The use of Teflon® insulation helps prevent oxidation and maintains consistent performance over many years. Rumour II is suitable for all levels of audio equipment and is often used in installations where cable discretion is important.
