The Channel Islands Audio DMC-1 is a high-end digital music console designed for audiophiles seeking versatile digital music playback and streaming capabilities. It features a robust fanless computer with a 1.8GHz Quad Core processor and an internal 16GB eMMC storage running AudioFile Player software for easy navigation. The DMC-1 supports playback from flash drives, hard drives, and Network Attached Storage, as well as streaming from services like Tidal, Spotify, and Qobuz, plus free digital radio stations. It includes a high-performance AKM AK4493 dual differential output DAC with ultra-precise femto clocks, supporting PCM up to 32bit/768kHz and DSD256. The unit offers both single-ended and balanced outputs, with optional VRX-1 cable set for balanced connections. An optional CDT-1 CD transport can be added to enable CD playback and ripping to FLAC files. The DMC-1 is controlled via any device with a web browser, including tablets, laptops, smartphones, and smart TVs. It has a sturdy aluminum chassis measuring 215 x 145 x 73 mm and weighs 3.6 kg. The power supply includes six regulated stages for optimal audio performance. The device does not support Roon but offers extensive connectivity and control options including Bluetooth playback and network control.
