About the D1

The D1 is a high-end SACD/CD player and transport designed for ultimate flexibility and performance. It uses a modified Esoteric VMK-5 VRDS-NEO transport mechanism mounted on a heavy steel base plate to minimize vibration. The modular card-cage architecture allows owners to configure the unit as a stereo or multi-channel player or transport, with options for digital outputs (AES/EBU, S/PDIF, TosLink, CH-Link HD) and analog outputs (balanced XLR, single-ended RCA). It supports stereo and multi-channel SACD, CD, and finalized CD-R/RW playback. The D1 features ultra-low jitter VCXO master clock oscillators with optional clock synchronization boards. Analog output stages use dual mono multi-bit Delta-Sigma converters with selectable interpolation filters and pure class A, fully symmetrical, discrete output stages with zero global feedback. The unit is built with a heavy aluminum chassis and weighs 32 kg, emphasizing mechanical stability and vibration control. It can be controlled via Ethernet and updated through USB firmware. The D1 remains a reference standard for digital music replay, supporting high-definition digital output to CH Precision DACs and integrated amplifiers.
