About the SL6S

The Celestion SL6S, introduced as a successor to the SL6, features a thinner Medite cabinet with a figure-of-eight brace and foam block damping. It has a 1.25 inch aluminium dome tweeter with increased efficiency and a 6-inch plastic woofer with a two-ring surround and shorter voice coil for reduced inductance and faster response. The crossover frequency is 2.8kHz with a 12dB/octave low-pass slope for the woofer and an 18dB/octave high-pass for the tweeter. The speakers provide smooth, detailed midrange, fast low fundamentals, and excellent stereo imaging without listening fatigue. The enclosure is sealed, measuring approximately 20.5 x 25.5 x 38 cm, weighing 8 kg per speaker, and made in the UK. The design incorporates advanced driver technology including laser interferometry for driver optimization and uses high-quality crossover components. The speakers are well regarded for their clarity, imaging, and balanced sound reproduction.
