About the TL0
The CEC TL0 3.0 is CEC's flagship CD transport, utilizing a proprietary double belt drive system—one belt for disc rotation and another for the laser pickup—to minimize vibrations and jitter, delivering analog-like musicality from CDs. It features a revolutionary three-part floating chassis with a hexagonal two-layer structure (20mm aluminum and 10mm brass), D.R.T.S. (Double Rubber & Triple Springs) suspension on three spiked feet, and a heavy brass CD stabilizer (ø125mm, 460g) for exceptional rotational stability akin to a high-mass turntable. The servo PCB is redesigned for shorter signal paths and improved grounding, with a separate outboard power supply for isolation. Digital outputs include Superlink (BNC x4 for separate music, clock, and sync signals), AES/EBU (XLR), coaxial SPDIF, and TOS optical, plus word clock input for synchronization with compatible DACs like CEC DA0 3.0. Playable discs: Audio CDs and finalized CD-R/RW. Improvements over TL0X include word clock input, reduced stabilizer height, and Superlink addition. Weighing 16-21kg total, it is praised for natural timbre, detail, and immersive soundstaging.
