The Cayin 9084D MK2 is a premium vacuum tube mono block power amplifier featuring a Class A single-ended design with 28 watts output power per channel. It uses hand-matched TUNG-SOL 6SL7 and 6SN7GTB tubes as voltage amplifiers, Full Music Gold Feet 300B tubes for driver stage amplification, and Dawning Sound of Sky Sound 845 tubes for power amplification. The amplifier includes a US RCA 22ED4 rectifier tube and offers external adjustments for 845 bias current and hum balance, facilitating easy tube rolling and maintenance. It incorporates two custom-built transformers: a high-inductance, low-resistance toroidal transformer for efficient power supply and an EI output transformer with a special multi-layer winding process for balanced and realistic sound reproduction. The frequency response ranges from 15Hz to 33kHz (-3dB), with harmonic distortion at 2% (1kHz), input impedance of 100 kΩ, and selectable output impedance of 4, 8, or 16 ohms. The amplifier weighs 32.5 kg per unit and measures 286mm (W) x 239mm (H) x 482mm (D). It operates on AC 220V (±5%) at 50/60Hz and includes a 30-second boot delay function. The design emphasizes organic, clean sound with immense drive and control, suitable for high-fidelity reproduction from various sources including CD, vinyl, and digital formats.
