About the Acoustics Stirling 3
The Castle Stirling 3 is a refined reflex ported floorstanding loudspeaker system that replaced the famous Severn model. It features a 2-way, 3-driver design with two 130mm woven carbon fibre bass-mid drivers and a 28mm soft dome tweeter arranged in a d'Appolito configuration for improved imaging. The bass reflex port fires downward between the cabinet and plinth, allowing flexible room placement and optimized bass response. The cabinet is made of rigid 18mm MDF and is available in eight real wood veneer finishes. The crossover uses audiophile-grade components and supports bi-wiring. It is recommended for amplifiers rated between 25 and 150 watts and has an impedance of 8 ohms with a sensitivity of 88-91 dB. Dimensions are approximately 845mm height, 200mm width, and 245mm depth, with each speaker weighing about 15 kg. The frequency response ranges from 45 Hz to 22 kHz, delivering accurate and natural sound with a slight limitation in the lowest bass region, suitable for small to medium-sized rooms.
