The Carver Silver 9t Monoblocks are monophonic power amplifiers originally released in 1991, designed by Bob Carver. Each amplifier delivers 575 watts into 8 ohms and up to 900 watts into 4 ohms, with a dynamic power rating of 1000 watts into 2 ohms. They feature a patented Magnetic Field Power Supply for extraordinary power output from a compact design and special circuitry to protect both the amplifier and loudspeakers from overload. The Silver 9t is known for its warm, natural sound that mimics tube amplifiers, aided by a transfer function modified for this purpose. They include lighted analog power meters and shock-isolation mounting. These amplifiers are capable of driving very low impedance loads for sustained periods, making them suitable for esoteric loudspeakers. The units have a frequency response of 20Hz to 20kHz, total harmonic distortion of 0.5%, damping factor of 125, and a gain of 29 dB. Input sensitivity is 2.3V with a signal-to-noise ratio of 100 dB. Dimensions are approximately 292 x 178 x 368 mm, and each unit weighs 8.8 kg. They were designed to be paired for stereo use and are highly regarded for their power and musicality, especially when matched with a quality preamplifier.
